Term "F" - INCOTERMS 2000

FCA|FAS|FOB

"F"- the terms provide that the seller delivers the goods for carriage in accordance with the buyer's instructions. The point at which the parties intend to make delivery under the termFCA, caused difficulties due to the wide variety of circumstances that may occur in contracts concluded with this term. Thus, the goods may be loaded onto a vehicle sent by the buyer to pick up the goods from the seller's premises; in another case, the goods may need to be unloaded from a vehicle sent by the seller to deliver the goods to a terminal named by the buyer.

Incoterms2000 take these options into account by stipulating that in the case where the place named in the contract as the place of delivery is the seller's premises, delivery is completed when the goods are loaded onto the buyer's means of transport, and in other cases, delivery is completed when the goods are placed at the buyer's disposal without unloading from the seller's vehicle.
Unfortunately, the word FOB is used by some merchants simply to refer to any point of delivery - such as "FOB factory", "FOB factory", "FOB from seller's factory" or other inland locations. At the same time, the meaning of the abbreviation is neglected: Free board. There remains a situation where this use of "FOB" tends to be confusing and should be avoided.
An important change takes place in the termFASwith regard to the obligation to clear the goods for export, since it is most commonly accepted to place these obligations on the seller and not on the buyer. To ensure proper attention to this change, it was highlighted in capital letters in the preface to the termFAS.
